Using models to represent real-life events involves use of mathematical expressions, equations, graphs, diagrams, tables or other visual representations which enable us to communicate and solve problems more easily. (By showing a map of my possible routes to school as well as a graph of the hills, it is easier to visualize the problem of how to get to school when I am on crutches.)
